I did some research, did some searches but cant seem to find any reviews on the wilson combat matched upper and lower reveivers.  This is going to be my first AR build so I'm trying to do as much research as I can before I pull the trigger on anything.  I know Wilson Combat has a rep floating around here (or atleast I think) so hopefully they will chime in.  I want to put together a solid first build so looking to spend a few bucks.  Here is what I have to start:  Suggestions are welcomed, just be easy on me.

Upper Assembly Parts
Upper Reciever Assembly Flat Top (WILSON COMBAT HAND MATCHED TO LOWER)
14.5" NATO Barrel Carbine (WILSON COMBAT)
AAC Blackout 51T Flash Suppressor
Gas Block (WILSON COMBAT)
Gas Tube (WILSON COMBAT)
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle (L)
Bolt Carrier Group (SUGGESTIONS??)
Troy MRF Rail 9"
Magpul Pop-up Gen 2 Sights
Magpul LPR Cover

Lower Assembly Parts
Lower Reciever (WILSON COMBAT HAND MATCHED TO UPPER)
Buffer Tube
Spring & Buffer
Magpul CTR Stock (Milspec)
Magpul ASAP Sling Mount
DPMS Lower Small Parts Kit (OTHER SUGGESTIONS?)
BCM Ambidextrious Safety
Magpul Trigger Guard
Magpul MIAD Pistol Grip
Magpul Bad Lever

Looks good and you have it covered with all nice stuff. I am more into mid length and the 12.5" front rails. Other then that I like it all.

Upper Assembly Parts
Upper Reciever Assembly Flat Top (WILSON COMBAT HAND MATCHED TO LOWER) Fail Zero Stripped upper, $114 w/o CH add $10 for Black FDE or OD... i prefer the standard color myself.
14.5" NATO Barrel Carbine (WILSON COMBAT) I don't know much about where Wilson get's their barrels... I like LW profiles, and I like Middy gas systems.  I have been leaning towards SS lately due to the cost of ammo vs. barrel life.  It just makes more sense to me to get a SS or a LW barrel in a semi auto platform.
AAC Blackout 51T Flash Suppressor I prefer comp's or brakes myself... I have never really seen the need for a FH unless you are actively trying to hide your position.. which lets be honest here isn't likely to be an issue for most of us.  YMMV but I like the recoil and muzzle rise compensation more than Flash Hiding.
Gas Block (WILSON COMBAT) a gas block is basically a gas block... get a troy or a YHM for cheap and be done with it.
Gas Tube (WILSON COMBAT) a gas tube is a gas tube... but spikes has started selling melonite tubes which is nice, i would grab one of those.
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle (L) Gunfighter is a tank.. love it... i prefer the medium or small latch
Bolt Carrier Group (SUGGESTIONS??) either a standard milspec one.. spikes or LMT are my favs.. or a NiB coated one like a Fail Zero one, or a Spikes Enhanced.. nothing in between
Troy MRF Rail 9" Ive used quad rails and this one in particular... never again, go with a customizable rail system like the VLTOR CASV or the Troy TRX extreme or VTACs extreme or the samson evo.. youll thank me later
Magpul Pop-up Gen 2 Sights I don't really like the MBUS sight picture.. but they are sturdy and they deploy fast and easy.
Magpul LPR Cover Larue Index clips are the best.. but if you get a Customizable rail system you'll never need rail covers.. less weight, less money.

Lower Assembly Parts
Lower Reciever (WILSON COMBAT HAND MATCHED TO UPPER) Any quality made Lower will do ya, I like the Aero Precision ones, or SAA or Spikes or whatever.. just make sure its forged and in spec.
Buffer Tube - Milspec... this is one area that can be improved with a little money.. I like the Spikes and the LMT ones, they use a dry film lubricant and its nice.
Spring & Buffer
Magpul CTR Stock (Milspec) VLTOR IMOD is the best in the business IMO
Magpul ASAP Sling Mount
DPMS Lower Small Parts Kit (OTHER SUGGESTIONS?) I like the PSA LPK's more options.
BCM Ambidextrious Safety
Magpul Trigger Guard
Magpul MIAD Pistol Grip
Magpul Bad Lever

If you like Wilson Combat and you get a proud feeling looking at their name on the side of your receiver then go for it.  Otherwise don't expect anything other than that feeling of satisfaction to come out of a hand matched set.  It'll be a color and perfect fit match im sure, but there will be no functional benefits from a matched set.  This rumor that matching upper and lower sets has any effect on accuracy and/or function is silly.  Things like that might be a factor in bolt guns or pistols but they aren't a factor in the AR platform.  But as I said, if you have a good feeling about Wilson Combat for some reason then go for it, its your rifle and you are the one who needs to be satisfied with it at the end of the day.

Now with that said I edited your list to put items I would choose in a build,  just think of them as options because what I like may not be what you like.

....
HA.  I just realized with my edits I basically just built you my rifle  Well I hope your build goes well and welcome to the site

One other thing to note is to watch the EE like a HAWK.  You'll save a bit of money by purchasing used parts.

Thanks for the great info!  I did some more searching to and got some more input from locals and they suggested going with a different  rail as well.  Hows this one look? http://troyind.com/%20/battlerails/vtac-rail-trx-extreme-by-troy-9  And for sights, what would you suggest in place of what I have listed?

I have that rail on my SPR type rifle, i like it alot... Just install it correctly, those types of rails are prone too breakage if you monkey fist them.. But if you install them correctly they are solid and very nice.

They are a bit on the thin side though.  If you have huge hands that might be something to think about.  Small rails like that i like to put the extra rail sections im not using right where i place my hand.. then cover them with index clips... it gives a bit more girth too it, and gives me a nice index point for quick hand placement.

Example on my VLTOR CASV rail -

Im torn on the MBUS, i mean i LOVE the quick flip up action of them, and they are sturdy enough that i don't worry about them.. its just the front sight post picture i don't like.  Troys are the only other option worth mentioning btw.  I really like my Troy DOA rear sight... but they aren't spring loaded like the MBUS and you have to unlock them to put them down which i don't like.  I don't normally see many people complaining about the MBUS sight picture besides myself you know though, so take my opinion for what it is

Ahh gotcha.  I moonlight at a range so I see a few AR's coming in and out so I always try to get some info and opinions on what people are running.   A few people that work with me are big into AR's, three gunners, yada yada so they have been pointing me in the right direction.  Once I build this one I will develop my own opinions too, just dont want to make to many mistakes and end up doing a bogus build.  I appreciate all the info I can get!  Its been hard finding all the parts in stock.  Any suggestions on good suppliers?  Bravo Company and Midway are the two I have so far.  I may switch to a Noveske upper and lower, guy I work with says he can get me a hand matched set for a good price, we will see.

This the buffer tube set-up you were referring to?   http://www.spikestactical.com/new/z/lower-kit-spikes-carbine-buffer-assembly-kit-p-315.html

Well, just picked up a noveske matched upper and lower set today.  Have most of the other parts on order, after searching around multiple sources to find them in stock.  Will be ordering the barrel and mid gas set-up, rail, and muzzle break this weekend along with a couple misc upper parts that I forgot about.  Other then that I should have everything.  We will see! Ill post pictures when i start seeing some parts!

This should be my final parts list:

Upper Assembly Parts
Noveske Upper Reciever Assembly Flat Top
Wilson Combat Match Grade Barrel, 5.56 NATO, Recon, 16", 1-8 Twist, Stainless
AAC Blackout 51T Muzzle Break

Everything looks good to me.

I use most of the components that you listed and I've been very satisfied with them like Stag, BCM, Magpul, and LMT.

Don't forget to get a sling when you're done, one of my favorite is my LaRue Tactical-Viking Tactics version VTAC padded two point sling with built-in QD sling swivels.

Impact Weapons Components have a good value, high quality, lightweight handguard QD sling mount for the Troy TRX Extreme rail.

Looks great - I'm late to the party, but I would've seconded everything durabo told you since he seems to think just like I do on AR stuff. Kudos on the Noveske match set. I have one and love it, but I also run an LMT upper on Noveske lower I built with a PSA LPK and it shoots just dandy too. In the end, I like looking at the Noveske logo better, though, because I'm OCD like that. Functionally, they're no different, though. That said, Noveske is awesome quality IMO and has passed LMT on my favorites list (but maybe just for having a cooler logo and double-thick barrel chrome ).

Enjoy your build!

if you don't mind, more pictures please!

I'm almost looking at the same set up, I'm most interested in seeing a front view. I wanted to see what the distance is from the front/tip of the Troy to the gas block. I can't decide between the 9" or the 11".

Also if you don't mind sharing, where did you purchase the barrel? I've been looking for a 16" middy SS barrel that's not black. Both Rainer and Wilson are OOS. Not crazy about WOA. Would like to explore other options before paying too much for a Noveske recon.

Thanks

The Noveske set is great!  I will slowly upgrade more parts of this build as I start building another one but that set will definitely stay the center piece of this build!

I definately like the looks of the 11",  covers the gas block nicely.  I purchased the barrel directly from Wilson Combat.  I got my order in a day or two before they went out of stock.  Send a message over to their rep on the forum and he should be able to give you an idea on when they will be back in stock.  I will do some searching online and see what I can find.

I snapped a few pics quick, sorry I couldnt get a very good picture of the gas block inside the rail.

Cool, thanks for the pics, it helps.  I was hoping the HG barely covers the gas block, but it looks like it goes over by probably an inch or so? If that's the case the 9" would expose the entire gas block. Too bad they don't make a 10". I wanted the gas tube covered while exposing part of the block, purely for aesthetic reasons.

great build by the way. I cant' wait to put mine together.
