How do you unscrew a flash hider without smearing or damaging it?  I took it off to clean the carbon off the muzzle, upon screwing back on it had a little damage on it.  Also are lock tights a good idea to put on. Aligning it was a pain...

tape the jaws and/or the FH.
use new crush washer. I try and use peel washers as much as possible, I just think they are better.
Clamp the barrel in the vise.
I use grease (same grease I use on the reciver threads for the BN), but loctite will work as well, I'd sugest 271.

I never take mine off..   There's no real need to..

Loctite won't work.  It breaks down at high temperatures..   You would use Rockset.. but that would pretty much make it much more difficult to remove your FH.
