I am thinking of using the BCM standard 11.5" bbl with a Vltor gas block. Not my first build, but the first time installing a gas block. Which is easier to install, the set screw version or the clamp mounted.

They are both equally simple to install.

I think the clamp on is slightly easier (I have used several and never had an issue ... I personally like the DD ones) ... but the set screw type isn't really that much harder.

I will say that I personally would dimple the barrel for the set screw type (I know people say you really don't need dimples to secure it properly) but I feel better having them .. most newer barrels already have one dimple to help align the GB and all you have to do is find where the second screw will hit and put a little dimple there for the second screw to seat into.
