I'm new to the site and thinking of building an AR15 I have visited some of the sites that offer the upper kits like M&A and M1 sales but I'm not real sure who to go with. Any suggestions would really help me with my research.

Thanks.

I just built one on a Spike's Blem upper which looked pretty much perfect.  I think they are out of stock right now though.  Just shop around some of the industry partner sites and some good deals on parts can be found.

I personally got my Spikes upper from Area 51 Tactical, they are an industry partner here, got a good deal and service. More folks will be along with their experience/opinions.

Welcome to Arfcom.

They do have some pretty good prices but they are all sold out so I got on the e-mail list.

Thanks for the welcome

I personally would stay away from M1 sales ... people ordering from them have had fraudulent charges show up on their CC after dealing with them and M&A is run by the same family.

Like the others have said ordering from a company that is an industry partner here would be the way to go ... if you have any problems they'll have a forum here for you to contact them and resolve the issue.

And welcome to the site.

Good to know exactly the info I was looking for.

Thanks.

Palmetto State Armory has good parts at a reasonable price.

+1 on this. Got most of the stuff to assemble my lower from them.

Ok here it is keeping in mind this my 1st build and of course I'm on a budget.

Aero precision stripped lower- 80.00 plus Brady check

Del-ton 16" M4 Rifle kit with furniture upgrades and 2 stage Rock River trigger 633.00 with shipping

I have a FM optics Red dot sight- 50.00 (It's a cheap one I know but keeping my costs down might allow me to pick up a better one in the future).

Still have to pick up some tools but I'm not counting that.

The Aero lower is one of the best ones by most opinions. My lower is a Surplus Arms branded one made by Aero. I don't know enough about Delton to have an opinion. I got a complete lower build kit from PSA. Everything went together fine.

Rest assured you have purchased a solid gun as your first build.

Del-Ton is GTG but I order my Del-Ton kits from JSE Surplus. They at least have a real time inventory system online so you can see what is in stock. If you order directly from DTI (or anybody for that matter) it is best to call and talk to somebody. They can tell you what they have and if something is out of stock you might be able to change something it get it quicker. Barrels are the most out-of-stock item for DTI (it seems). Last I checked builds were 4-6 weeks out. Check under Industry/Del-ton. They post updates frequently.

Edit: Didn't check that "rifle kits" link until now, sorry. Takes you directly to JSE.

Thanks for all the help I ordered the kit this morning. It will be a 4 to 6 week wait but that will give me time to put some tools together cant wait to get started!
