After doing some research and reading this last weekend i'm thinking of purchasing  a Stag Arms stripped lower and the Rock River A-4 complete upper package, with the cost of new AR'S in CA. this leaves my enough for mid-grade optics ($250.- or so). So fire away and tell me what you think and freely give advice.

I don't like RRA for numerous reasons.  Which I won't get into here because it'll start a fight.

But my advice is to do some research.  Read... Alot.

I will direct you to research issues people have had with RRA parts fitting right together.

If you do a quick search and compare uppers from stag, to uppers from companies such as BCM, Colt, LMT, etc., you might just change your mind. If you still decide that you want that stag upper, then you are good to go because it will serve you well for the most part. As far as optics go, there are some good deals floating around on the Nikon M223 series.

RRA seems like Glock, either people love it or hate it. Before i went to the forums i read alot of gun reviews in mags. and by online gun testers. The package i settled on the highest rated entry level (under a grand in my hands) i could come up withe that i can actually buy, since i'm in CA.. I'm thinking of dropping the RRA full package in favor of piecing the upper out.

Chose your barrel profile wisely, I have an RRA A4 upper that has the HBAR profile 16" and that bitch is heavy, went with the medium profile on my second one.

I really like RRA lowers, but I dont have much experience with the uppers.

My advice would be not to cheap out on your glass. For $250 I would check out some of vortex's stuff.
