I'm looking to build an AR as a secondary precision rifle to my Remington 700.

I know there are a lot of parts involved with this process, and was curious as to what parts are recommended for a precision-based platform

Thanks

Anything else I should consider?

High quality stainless barrel, Free float handguards and a good shooter.

A trigger doesn't make the rifle more accurate...just makes it easier for the shooter to stay accurate.

Thanks, and very true.

What are some popular barrels, free-floating handguards, and triggers out there?

Look at the PRI carbon fiber free-float tubes. Very nice, and you can have pieces of rail only where you need it. PRI Tubes

I would also check out JP Rifles free-float tubes, barrels, triggers etc.... JP Rifles

i'm very happy with my samson mfg evolution free float tube.  best one i've had yet, and light as all get out.  you may want to look that one up.

for a trigger i'd say check out geisselle.  they are pretty much no.1 for precision triggers that will actually last as long as your rifle.  the timney and mccormick drop ins, and some of the others, just don't have the durability that the geiselle's do.

you get what you pay for in all things gun related, keep that in mind.

JP is expensie but I have to say im very happy with everything I got from them so far. most of the parts on my latest build is from JP other than the upper and lower receivers.
