Not many people are using (just looked through build it yourself photos+descriptions)  the 5.56 YHM 16" 1:7 barrel, cost is $187.  I was thinking about purchasing this barrel but want some input prior to purchasing it. Thank You

I've got a couple of those but with a 1:9 twist. Very well made quality barrels, I'm sure I'll buy more in the future. I was pretty surprised how well they handled a wide spectrum of bullet weights, 45gr all the way up to 77gr (the 77s fairly well for a 1:9). One of them particularly likes a Sierra 68gr BTHP match I use, I've gotten very good accuracy with those.

Both barrels I have are the YHM 16" 5.56 Non-fluted 1:9 twist with Phantom 52Cs.

I find the YHM diamond fluting to be a little on the Fugly side, I like non-fluteds myself.

I had the same barrel that GunnyApproved had and put about 600 rounds through it and it shot very well (a buddy has it now and has put another 2000 rounds through it and it still shoots just as good) ... I also don't care for their diamond fluting.
