ok i tried searching but guess i don't know how to use the engine, what is the point of cutting up the redimag? I am guessing it is to keep it open to clear out water mud and dirt ?

Look at the Blue Force Gear Redi-Mod. They have a picture on their website and you can compare the holes to your Redi-Mag.
