I am looking at changing out my trigger for a JP or Drop in assembly - do I have to take out the safety selector to remove my current trigger and put the new one in?
Thanks |

It's usually easier. Sometimes a lot easier.
Just turn the rifle upside down, stick a screwdriver (or appropriate implement) in the grip to remove the grip screw. Gently lift the grip off - this will usually prevent the safety detent spring from flying across the room. Take that spring out of the receiver or grip - where ever it is. Turn the rifle over and tap the receiver a time or two until the detent falls into your hand. Pull the safety out. You may have to cock the hammer so the back of the trigger will move out of the way. Usually the first thing I do is remove the hammer. And put it in last. This allows you to move the trigger as needed to clear the safety. I'm not familiar with the JP or Drop in assembly triggers but it shouldn't be too difficult to put everything back together. Especially if you're mechanically inclined. And they should come with directions anyways. |
