| Only one I've held in my hand besides the stock one is a First Samco (aka: Command Arms Tactical Pistol Grip - G27) which is mounted on my Bushy. Planning a build and was hoping I could get some recommendations from ya'll. |

I really prefer the MIAD w/ the large backstrap. Unfortunately the cost precludes me from putting it on all my AR's. The MOE is almost as good and a bunch cheaper. I've tried most of the others out there and they're all too small. The Stark is intriguing, but fugly. BTW I wear a medium sized glove, so gorilla handz aren't the problem. |

I like the Magpul MIAD and the Ergo grips. I have XL hands. Don't care for the Magpul MOE grip. I've got both. I've got the ergo on my 16 in. AR build and it's by far my favorite, looks good and feels even better. The MIAD on other hand might look cool, but I didn't think it felt anywhere near as good as the ergo, at least to me, I've don't have huge hands though, I've heard people with bigger hands prefer the MIAD. The Houge looks like a cool one, but I've never tried it. |

For the past few years I have only run MIADs but I happened upon a rifle with an Ergo on it and I really like it as well. I would like to know how the Ergo feels when it is wet or covered in sweat before I recommend it over the MIAD though. |

It is going to be 100% user preference, you are going to have to try a few to figure out what works for you. I love the Stark SE-1 grip personally. Perfect size, excellent grip angle, tumb shelf, watertight storage.. I agree on the user preference. Just don't want to buy 4-5 grips to find the one I want. The first samco one I have fits my hand like a glove but if there's something better...... I was also looking at the Stark (with the swivel stud). Ugly fucker but looks comfortable and I like the idea of having an extra swivel socket. I could care less what it looks like. Function is paramount to me. Thanks all for the thoughts. Keep 'em coming |

As you can see there are many varied responses as to feel ... hand size and comfort. I have MIAD's and a MOE. I can understand and feel a difference between the two. I have paws... so the bigger wider MIAD works better for me. Most will say between the two the MOE is better bang for your buck. I am sure Tango downs are nice..... Hogue is a good option for the handgun world don't see why it wouldn't for the AR15 world as well
Good luck on your decision..... My main thought is buy one you think you might like and run it like it is issued to you and you don't have a choice.....then if you really can't stand it sell it on the EE here and try another one..... |

The texture on the sides of the MOE seams the same, but the backstrap of the MOE sucks...HEAR THAT MAGPUL wrap the same texture around it, in OD and I will get back with you |

The original A1 is about the smallest, aside from the Troy AK looking one. The original ergo was on the HK/G3, the newer don't know. After that, they all get bigger, Tango Down, which I got, then A2.
Most of it is about what is comfortable in circumference, I would like a smaller TD, but I know I got used to the fat boy A2, and it really doesn't have much to do with accuracy. The gun is held at the shoulder and off hand, getting a trigger pull length means using a target trigger to have any advantage, which makes the whole thing a range toy. In the day, if it was too small, bike tube or tape fixed it, you had no choice, it was issue. Now, do what feels right, which means putting your hand on some. Asking others just tells you what hand size they have. There's no magic to them. If I could find an A1 in Foliage Green, not painted, I would have done that. To me, the color not being black was more important than perfect fit, which I knew wouldn't happen. |

You're gonna have to buy one, try it out & if you don't like then buy another & sell the previous grip. Unless you have access to other shooters in your area to try their set ups? |

That's why I noted my experience with a stock grip and the First Samco grip as a frame of reference. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask others what they liked or didn't like about theirs. Got some good feedback from everybody else. Appreciate your experience and sharing what you like or not as well. Not necessarily going to get what the majority says they like but it is good to know. I like to tap people's brains before I make decisions.
Thanks again for your thoughts. |
