I just shaved down my FSB for my SBR build. Its a Bushmaster barrel. I believe the finish was parkerized. I now need to refinish my FSB. Whats my options for refinishing? It's going to be for the most point hidden under the free float rail, but I'd like it to look as good and durable as the rest of the barrel finish. This is my first SBR, and I want to do it right for sentimental reasons. Thanks for any input.

Either cold blue or high temp spray paint.

I had a Bushmaster 14.5" barrel with a pinned AK brake.  I removed the brake, pinned on a Vortex and shaved down the front sight and refinished everything with moly resin.  It is a little more work because you have to heat up the parts before spaying them and then bake them but it is a durable finish and looks good.  Worth the trouble IMO.

US Anodizing will reparkerize the barrel, or just use B-B-Q paint.
Heat it up with a small propane torch or if your oven is big enough throw it in there for preheating.

How about nickle??

...or manganese phosphate??

...or Norell's moly resin would also work well.
