I am looking for detailed information on some of the tricks to changing out the FCG. Every time I change one out, it does not go as smooth as I would like, so I thought I would look for some suggestions. If you could post your procedure, I would greatly appreciate it. I am thinking this should be a VERY easy process, but I seem to be inept when it comes to changing one out. Thanks! |

just follow the directions provided here starting from step #5, if you're just swapping out a FCG...there are no tricks needed |

If the posted guide does not help, you could probably get more assistance if you identified what goes wrong when you try FCG changes.
ETA: Using the largest punch that will fit in the trigger/hammer pin holes and forcing the punch out by inserting your trigger/hammer pins is one way to keep everything lined up while putting the pins in. |

Remove the selector first. I start the trigger pin and drop in the trigger w/spring, w/o disconnecter, finagle the pin half way in, then add the disconnecter and finagle the pin the rest of the way. The hammer is the same, start the pin, press on the hammer, and wiggle it around till the pin starts, then wiggle it around until the pin lines up on the other side. Shouldn't take 10 minutes. Lube how ever you want, I put grease in all the pin holes before I start.
I think thats what you're asking for (RIF) Quoted:
