When I built my rifle I went with the A2 front sight block thinking I wanted to co-witness with my optics. I now wish I would have went with a different gas block so I can use a flip-up sight.
Would this be difficult to swap out myself? Or should I just grind down my front sight? I put the rifle together myself (stripped lower, lower parts kit, complete upper) if that helps determine my level of experience with my AR-15.
Here is a pic for reference. Mine is on the bottom.

You either grind you FSB into a low pro gas block or buy one to replace your FSB & then install a longer FF rail tocover the fas block. It's really easy.

It's not terribly difficult depending on what you do:

You can grind it down and hit it with some flat black paint. I've done a bunch of these in the last couple years and all work perfectly. I put a YHM specter rail over the last one I did and still had room for the handguard cap they sell.
