Back in the early 90's when good ammo was $3.75 a box i had a post ban Colt with 20" h-bar (really miss it).  Now I own a bushmaster carbine that i paid $1400 for right after the annointed one became president.  Finally after 6 months of trying to sell a 300wsm browing a-bolt to get another AR I just order a kit from del-ton. This will be my first build. It will have a 16" mid lenght barrel with1/7 . I am looking for any tips on getting started when the box of parts show up at my door. I will be useing a stripped bushmaster lower. Also my bushmaster has a 1/9 barrel which I shot the manufactures specified number of rounds  trough it to "break it in". How do I correctly "break in" a 1/7 chrome lined barrel?

Welcome to the club... you know that nobody can build just one.  You are on the road to a life-long addiction

For barrel break in, I just give the barrel a good cleaning to remove any gunk from manufacturing and then go shoot it.
