I've put together several lowers, but this is my fist "stripped" upper. I can't figure out how the FWD Assist assy is held in place.
I bought "fwd assist assy. Round" & it came with one roll pin. I slide it in the upper and it doesn't seem like the offset pin hole would do anything.
Help a brother out?  BTW I did search and couldn't find a thing???

Good afternoon Shooter62, all.

Just google "How to assemble a stripped upper receiver." and you'll get several places to download and watch great how-to vids.

The roll pin is hammered into place and acts as a retainer. If you look at the forward assist's push arm you'll see a flat spot, that flat spot is operational range of the assist the roll pin is in there and keeps you from pushing too far and as a retainer for the spring.

The video is awesome.

Keep us posted.

Stay safe and happy shooting.

I can't believe it's that simple...it just doesn't seem like that would hold it, but I'll go so it.
 Thanks guys
