Personally I would go at least 1:8 on the twist.

it sounds like a fairly quality build so dont cheap out with the moe handguard, go DD or Larue, or similar quality

and dont forget a buffer tube, spring, buffer, and stock

eta:  you might as well put on a sling attachment plate while you're at it if you want to go with a single point sling

How are you going to use a moe handguard with that set up?  That stripped barrel does not come with a standard barrel nut and delta ring assembly does it?  Or a handguard cap?  With that barrel and low pro gas block some sort of free float tube would be best, like a Troy trx extreme.

the moe handguards are solid but i wouldn't trust mounting the mbus on it, get a free float rail of some sort

I dont think it comes with those pieces, does the TRX kit come with the proper barrel nut and delta ring and handguard cap?
If I was to order the TRX extreme, what else would I need to add to my stripped barrel?
Also what length TRX would I want to get?

Thanks

What are you going to attach the front sight to?

I was getting those bolt on rails, but I am starting to see the error in my ways.

I want to order the TRX battle rails, but I want to make sure I order EVERYTHING I need to complete my stripped barrel

So I am definitly going to order the TRX extreme battlerail.. but which length should I get?
9, 11, or 13?

I would go with a 1/7 twist, it will be more versatile.

Either length of the TRX will work.  Since you are using a barrel with a CAR gas system even the nine inch rail will cover the gas block.  Is there a reason you are using a 16" M4 profile barrel?  Why not a 16" mid length?  If I were you I would choose the mid length barrel and either the 11" or 13" TRX extreme rail.  The rail will come with it's own proprietary barrel nut and a wrench to install it.

Thats the barrel that was recommended to me from a friend, I already ordered it but I didnt pick it for any specific reason.
Will it still work with the 13" rails or should I get the 11" or 9" ?

Thanks

If you're using a low-pro gas block all 3 of those will work.
Just depends on how much rail you want/need.

I personally like the look of longer rails but it does add weight to the front of your rifle.
However the longer the rail, the further apart your irons can be apart....
thereby making your irons capable of better accuracy at greater distances

DD makes good barrels but if you want a barrel that'll stabilize heavier bullets then you need to get a 1/8 or a 1/7.
I know DD makes a 1/7 but don't know about a 1/8
.
The TRX will come with what it needs to be mounted but you will need to get the hardware for your barrel.
Try either Bravo Company or Brownell's they should be able to get the parts you're missing to you.

Thanks, what hardware are you referring to?
TheTRX comes with the nut, is there something else I will need?
sorry for all the questions, I am still very new to this.

Are you certain that the DD is 1/9 twist? I thought that all of the DD barrels were 1/7 twist? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

LMT bolt carriers use a MIM(Metal Injection Molded) gas key.  Some folks here have issues with that and claim it is a more brittle metal.  When staked the metal splits instead of just displacing.  Personally I don't think it's a big deal, but its something you should be aware of.  BCM seems to be the preffered bolt carrier group.

Bravo has 1/9 twist barrels listed now.

I don't know much about the TRX but I'm pretty sure the nut that comes with it is for mounting the rail system, not a barrel nut.
I could very well be wrong about that though.

It wasn't listed but just to be sure you do have the proper length gas tube right?
( not being a dick, you said you were new to this, so just checking)

The TRX rail comes with a proprietary barrel nut that the rail also mounts on, so you won't have to worry about getting a barrel nut. So you can definitely mount the barrel to the upper. You have listed that you have the lo pro gas block, the gas tube, and the gas tube retaining pin. So once you get the TRX rail you will have everything to mount the barrel.  The LMT bolt carrier group, BCM charging handle will complete the upper.

By the way that Gunfighter Charging handle is awesome.

The Magpul MBUS are great too, but one little problem I have noticed with them, is that depending on were you grab the charging handle, the little tab that hangs off each side of the sight that you use to pop the sight up, may get in the way slightly.

Hope that helps.
