If I were to use Gunkote on a complete lower, would baking it in an oven at 300F be an issue in terms of metal temps and could you go lower in temperature, say 200 or 225 and it still work?

Thanks,

Trying to remember back to my materials science class I took a few quarters ago, but it shouldn't be a problem at all. 300°F isn't even 150°C so that really isn't really close to what temperatures they use to heat treat metals. Shouldn't affect anything I don't think.

I would suggest you go to the refinishing section of the armory forum section.  And there is no problem baking any of the metal components at that temp.  I go to 400 for mine.
