I had an A2 Post Ban AR sitting around that I'd shoot here and there, I wanted an A3 upper and rail so here's what I ended up with!

Thanks to this forum I built it with no guess work or issues. That build thread is amazing. I'm going to be subscribing to a membership here in the next day or two. I feel that's fair for the info I've gathered here.

YHM A3 Upper
YHM Diamond Rifle Length Forearm
YHM Diamond Fluted Barrel (Chrome Lined 16" 1:9)
YHM Gas Block
YHM Phantom 5M1 Brake
Eotech 512
Magpul BUIS

I pieced it together over a few different sites, finding the cheapest prices while saving on shipping. Everything went together great, very easy. Made my own vise block from an old plastic cutting board and had no issues torquing the barrel nut.

Range report!
Took it out today, WOW! I love it over my A2 upper. The Eotech makes effortless work of bowling pins at 100-175 yards. Only missed a few times out of the 200rnds I spent today. Very pleased. I was great with the iron sites on the A2 and was quite the fan but I love this Eotech. The Magpul sites are great as well. Had no issues picking targets off with them. This set up is very solid and left me VERY confident that my choice of parts was well picked.

Here's some glamor shots, I'll have range photos later:

I dig it and I'm glad you like the eotech. I have one and I love it. It's weird being able to shoot with 2 eyes open.

Also what shirts are those? I dig em

Yup, the pics were from a photoshoot I did for Condition0. I'll be honest, I just like to take pictures though. I think they came out great.

What grip do you have on there?  Looks like it has interchangeable backstraps and finger grooves.

It's a CAA UPG16. I'm not a fan. It's usually around $40, I was at Cabelas (3hrs away) and she rang it up. My total was $21.xx so I paid it and laughed. I'm an honest guy but it's not my job to police their infrastructure, that's my stance. Anyway, I get home, open it up and notice the pins that hold the grip straps in place were gone (even though the blister pack it came in was sealed). Then at some point the bottom cap must have fell out while at the range. It's junk. I'm switching to a MIAD. But to it's defense, it's very comfortable.

Nice job. I really like the barrel and am hoping they begin to offer it with a 1/7 or 1/8 twist.

I am looking to do something similar to your build. What tool did you use for the barrel and hand guard?  Did you have to buy the YHM tool?

I bought a tool at a gun show for $25 a year or so back for removing the buffer tube. It's just a cheap "Armor's wrench" that NC Star makes. It has the 3 nipples on the barrel wrench end for free float nuts like the YHM used. The jam ring for the handgaurd, I used a clean, new stubby flat head and a light hammer to tap it. Worked great.

It was like this one:
