I have just come from researching and googling but to no avail. Was hoping you could please help.
I have purchased a complete upper. I require a complete lower.
My question is what else do I need to apart from a buffer and a butt stock? I do like the Magpul CTR butt stock and so far understand that I would also need to buy either a mil spec or commercial spec buffer tube to get this connected. I am unsure if I need any other bolts or washers or parts to complete my project. Also what length of buffer would you recommend, my upper is 14.5 plus the 1.5 flash hider, total 16".

Thanks

If you're going to use the CTR, all you will need is a buffer tube to match which CTR you get (mil-spec or commercial tube) and I would recommend the H2 buffer.
For $75 you can get this–––– Stock Hardware Mounting Kit (Mil-spec)  $56 plus $17 for h2 buffer.
You would also need something to tighten the caste nut. You would also maybe need a buffer retainer and buffer retainer spring, if the lower doesn't come with one. Just be sure to get the Mil-spec version of the CTR if you go with kit i mentioned above. Other than that you should be fine.

Thanks, that does look good and would seem to accommodate the magpul butt stock nicely. Would a complete lower come with a buffer retainer and buffer retainer spring? I couldnt locate these parts on that website.

To be completely honest, I have no clue if it will come with them or not. Each complete lower is different. If you want to play if safe you can order them from MidwayUSA.com Linky It'll be numbers 18 and 19.

Edit to add- You can probably find them at Brownells or do a Google search for them specifically.

Edit- whoops put the wrong numbers.

Thanks for the info appreciated. Would there be any advantage in getting one of these kits instead?

Seems to come with the stock and complete buffer tube assembly, the first one also includes receiver parts?

Nope, there's nothing wrong with either of those.
The premium lower build kit actually looks pretty good in the first link you posted. And if the SSA trigger is fine with you the Ultimate LBK would be ok too.

Great thank you. One thing I forgot to mention, How comes the ACS kit is cheaper than the CTR kit. Although the link I supplied doesnt show the CTR as a kit, I googled and it seems the CTR kit complete is more expensive?

Hmm, that doesn't make sense seeing as the ACS is about $40 higher than the CTR. Doesn't make sense at all, unless the lower parts kit is a different manufacturer and costs more.

I know it didnt make sense to me either. They have the ACS complete kit there for $140.

I don't know man, can't see the logic in it. But the ACS is a little bit of a better stock, with the check weld and storage compartment. It all depends on what you want.
