Good luck getting someone to give up info on what vendors ship gun parts to MA.  Thanks to your wonderful Attorney General Martha Coakley and her cronies, there are very few vendors who will ship anything of significance to a private citizen in MA.

This is WRONG.

O.P All vendors will ship to MA. If they dont then you probably don't want to do business with them.

Ammo is the item that most will not ship to mass due to interpritation of law.

ETA. If vendors wouldn't ship to mass I would have alot of lonely lowers sitting in my safe. The only thing I have purchased in state are my lower. All of the other components have been purchased by reputable on line dealers.

SEVERAL people I personally know have had very bad luck getting parts from vendors who I would consider to be extremely reputable, due to the AG's stupid regulations.  I'm just speaking from "personal" experience, not just pulling it out of my ass, as your post seems to imply.

What regulation's? Link please

I guess I have to ask what vendors won't ship to MA? If they wont ship here then there is no reason not to post thier names.

If you mean that they wont ship certain item's (threaded barrels, flash hiders etc.) then I would understand, but I dont know any vendor that flat out refuses to ship to MA.

there are only 2 items that you will have trouble getting shipped to MA. Pre-ban High Cap Mags and ammo. It depends on the company. It's not impossible, but it takes some leg work and if you find some, do not ever post their names. It is perfectly legal to sell pre-ban mags and ammo to MA, but many businesses got letters from the previous AG threatening lawsuits about ammo and some will not do it. The current AG from my understanding has not hassled anybody.

Everything else ships fine. I haven't had any problems and there is no legalities to worry about for uppers, barrels, complete uppers, stocks etc. I ordered a collapseable stock and 1 dealer called me and asked what I was going to put it on. As soon as I told him it was for a pre-ban lower he said he just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get myself jacked up.

Any of the site sponsors should have what you are looking for. Many of the vendors also have collapsible stocks that are pinned or can be pinned.

Thanks anyone know if you need to get an FA10 form when you just own the lower?
5/19/2010 1:26:50 PM EDT
[#9]
You need to fill out the FA-10 when you assemble, or have the ability to assemble, your complete rifle.

ETA. To answer your question no you do not need to fill out a FA 10 for JUST a lower.

ok thanks, I need to find a cheap a2 stock everywhere the kits are like 80 bucks. I thought building my own would be cheap!

You can ship anything there. The vendors don't know whether you own a pre-ban lower or not; this is what I was told by Bushmaster many moons ago when I lived in that rotten state.

Some vendors will refuse to ship some parts, but overall the responsibility to be compliant is on you.

I'd move and have it shipped to my new out of state address .

Is that written down anywhere? Where is that from? All I have read is that the definition for the registration requires that the gun must be able to discharge a round.

To save yourself the hassle just buy a built rifle already. I had my Spikes made MA compliant and they shipped it to my FFL no hassle. Also have some preban mags.

But yea a lot of rules in this state are BS.

OK I have gotten barrels, uppers, and other parts from vendors and I live in MA.  It is your responsibility to be compliant with the laws.  As said in other posts is Ammo and Hi-Cap mags will not be shipped.  Makes getting those items very much a pain in the butt and more costly

If you can't get something shipped in or are having trouble doing so, why not save the shipping costs and buy from a MA manufacturer?  We've got some good firms in the western/central part of the state.

I also live in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and have ordered many items and built more than a few AR's while living here. Not much or a problem except for a couple of ill informed and/or misinformed vendors who have recieved bad info from thier corporate lawyers. Most parts needed for almost any AR can be legally ordered and delivered in and to Massachusetts. Go to the states forums if you need more help or contact me directly with what you may need and I will do what I can to lead you in the right direction....<><....:)

P.S. - PK Firearms is a great company and I have ordered from them many times. For another source of inexpensive (cheap) parts just keep checking the EE....<><....:)
