OK, I'm embarressed that I don't know this, but I don't so I'll ask.  If I buy a Noveske barrel that comes with an installed gas block, will I have to take off the gas block to mount it on a receiver with a one piece FF rail?  My guess is yes.

What kind of rail?

Yeah you'll have to remove the gas block if it doesn't have the barrel nut for the type of front rail/grip you're planning to use.

a lot of times you have to remove the front sight to install a one piece free float rail since the rail will not clear the sight. You might be able to get away with leaving it intact since it's just a gas block.

you'll know right away if it doesn't fit.

What type of rail is it?

If you are buying direct from Noveske you can ask for them to pull the pin for you and remove the gas block so you can install it after you put the barrel nut on.  They have done it for others... so it cant hurt to ask.

Thanks for the info.   I'm considering the DD Lite or the Larue Rails.
