I'm getting a M-16 BCG from DPMS and was wanting to know what you guys thought of them? About where do they stand in the rankings ?

Thanks !
Gator.

I would not run a DPMS bcg. I've had one & they are prone to breakage at the cam pin hole. They are near the bottom as far as "rankings" I'd say.

Was this an m-16 unit ? Or are they the same ? I don't know.

It may not be the best but there are lots of them out there.  midway and brownells sell them.  I doubt they would if they had too many problems.

midway and brownells sell a lot of questionable crap that wouldn't find its way anywhere near my guns...

the majority of shoppers at midway/brownells shoot a couple hundred rounds MAX through their AR's so they'll likely NEVER see an issue...

DPMS now use BCGs made by Toolcraft. They make replacement BCGs for the military. Bushmaster now uses them.

Why don't we all just BEAT THE FUCKING CRAP OUT OF THIS ISSUE AGAIN...

At least it wasn't the most common question asked about twice a week, "is a full auto carrier legal to use in an AR-15"? Or "my safety won't work when the hammer isn't cocked".

I would recommend a BCM or Spikes…
The staking is great on both of them and both companies have a great track record.

I think I'm all so going to get the BCM one so I can see the Diff.  Other than having a logo on it.

Well, the difference is in the materials, testing and assembly.

Spikes and BCM list their specs and DPMS does not.
I know for a fact that Spikes and BCM do a proper staking job on the gas key.
I have a DPMS BCG and it has never failed me, but the staking was poor so I put a new forged gas key on it and staked it with a MOACKS tool, the Spikes and BCM are about the same price, so it just makes sense to me to go with them.

I really couldn’t care less about a logo, but I really respect when a company completely lists the technical specs of their products and the logo just tells me that I got what I paid for.

I use a dpms bcg in my varminter and it works fine.

Only DPMS BCG I had was on my DPMS complete AR. Worked fine never had any trouble in 2K rounds. The key was properly stalked.
I'd buy again if the price was right.

I've been running DPMS BCGs for years and never had any trouble, be it in 5.56, 6.8, 6.5G, .458S, .358HDH, .470R, and 500P.  But they will never get you a seat at the cool kids table serving kool-aid.
