I just got my Mega Monolithic Upper (modular) and I want to swap out the ejection port cover. It appears that the "rod"  that holds the ejection port cover/spring in place is installed thru a hole that runs the length of the upper. The hole starts under the forward assist and appears to be a blind hole. I removed the forward assist roll pin and took a look to see if I could slide the rod out but it would not move. Just wanted to see if anyone has experience with the MTS before I " put some effort into it". Thanks in advance.

I can't help you but I'd sure like to see your upper as I'm looking to pick one up.

I have been looking at the Mega Monolithic uppers since they were released too.

The hinge pin slides out the front on the Mega billet uppers as opposed to the back on normal ar uppers. You might need to remove the rail assembly to slide it out, and theres also that little tiny c-clip too.

As far as I can tell , yes the pin comes out the back. I will give Mega a call and let you know what I find out. As far as pics go the Mega site pics are as good as any that I would take. FYI the Midlength is the same length as a upper with 9 inch handguards. The milling and finish are B E A utiful. I am waiting on a stock and BCG to get it finished. The rails from Mega are still 3 weeks out.

What barrel and gas block did you select?  I've been thinking about a scoped 18" build with a Sabre or White Oak barrel... the MTS looks like it would be perfect.

Mega contacted me...how's that for customer service. The roll pin on the forward assist also holds the ejection port cover rod. I am waiting on a few parts to get it complete. I have a Bravo cold hammer forged 16" midlength barrel and a LaRue gas block. I have the midlength so the gas block is outside the handguards but just checked it for you and the LaRue will fit under the handguards, and you can get to both of the setscrews also.
