Want to build Jr. an AR on an EA lower I've had to about 20 years now. Want it to be as economical a build as possible. It will be his first AR and it's just to get him familiar with the weapon.
Anyone know of where to find the least expensive complete kit for an AR. It can be either a full size or M4. Lowest cost is the major objective. Thanks, Nick |
| From my reading I've found that Del-Ton and J&T Distributing have the best "value kits" if you are looking to complete a stripped lower. These kits have nice parts at a nice price. There are cheaper kits available, such as Blackthorne, however they seem to have extremely poor quality parts. "You get what you pay for" comes to mind in this case. I don't see you having to pay much more $450-500 if you are looking to complete the stripped lower. Your least expensive routine is most likely going to be buying pieces individually when you find great deals on them at gun shows, etc. but this could take an extremely long period of time. I am planning on getting one of the kits to complete a stripped lower myself, so that is what I would to recommend for you since I am trying to do a budget build as well. |

A 20 year old lower huh? I'll trade you straight up for a brand new shiny lower Yea, two buddies and I ordered one each at $65 bucks a piece way back when. I was gong to make mine a sniper model but never put in the effort. Now I want to build if for Jr.s first one. Found some stuff at this place AR15products.com but couldn't find any prices. |

A few months ago I sold a preban Essential Arms stripped lower to a guy in Connecticut for $600. Yes they still have a value. however the key to that value in CT is that they have to have been built prior to the Assault ban. With a letter verifying the build. I take it in CT you can't buy a new post ban lower? |
| Ok gonna do my due diligence... STAY AWAY from AKPARTSKIT and blackthorne, hesse, vulcan... your buildl for your son should be a joyful experience not something you may develop an embolism over.. Delton makes a good kit. Why don't you 2 build it ground up together? my rifle is cobbled together with upper level parts only and cost about 750.00 minus 100 since you have a lower already |

But if you want to do specific things with the rifle( and I am not sure exactly what the advantages are, maybe short barrels or something else), but I do know that the market prices was very high. I had researched the selling prices, and the guy seemed to be ready and willing to pay my asking price, without a counter offer or haggling. |
