I need to know how to removed the spray paint off my lower. I had to replace my upper due to a kaboom. The rifle did have a complete custom camo paint job. After the fde furniture kit, larue hand gaurd, and replaced upper the only thing still painted is the lower. Any help would be great.

laquer thiner would be the first thing I would try if the lower is parkerized thiner won't hurt it should just take the paint off

If the above don't work (and try them first)  Brake Fluid removes paint.

brake fluid stains paint if left on paint stripper very aggresive and costly strip your lower and soak in laquer thiner for hour or so and it should lift right off after 27 years doing body and paint work I know a little on this subject.

I removed the DuraCoat from a lower by soaking it in laquer thinner and wire brushing it.
