He just drop ships J&T kits and charges a surcharge, in other words you pay him, he orders a kit from J&T and J&T ships the kit to you. At least that's what he did last I knew.  I've thrown him off here a few times

ar-15kits.com is NOT blackthorne
these guys are giving disinformation confusing ar-15kits.com with akpartskits.com

akpartskits.com IS blackthorne

i have no experience with ar-15kits.com so i can't comment on their products.

ar15sales.com has full stag kits at a great price. back up iron sights included. you're gonna pay about $100 for a BUIS anyways, so in my mind this is the best bang for the buck. assuming you want to build a M4.

Sorry for my mistake, that's why I said I was not sure.

And I agree, Pete from ar15sales.com is a stand up guy and the OP should take a good look at his Stag kits, they really are a bargain.

For what i'm looking at building ar-15kits is a little more expensive than del-ton and del-ton seems to have a positive approval here.

I have seen that site..  But I am looking for 762x39MM kit. I got one from Del-Ton a while back  AND LOVE IT...But they won't have anything in stock for a while.. .I have built two in 762x39.. One for me from Del-ton and one for my kid brother from J&T.. Both of these 762x39 are  Very accurate, feed VERY well.. and have much more thump than 5.56MM.. Every time I go to the range somebody asks what I am shooting in 'That AR?'.. I let them pop a few rounds and inevitably I hear " I need one of those'.. With Barnes bullets these rifles make outstanding pig guns.. and I can't wait to try them on Whitetail this fall..  I want one with a 20'' barrel for that..

Hence my question about AR15 Kits.com...  they have it in stock

BTW Thanks for all the replies!

I recently purchased three AR kits. One Blackthorne 7.62x39 A2 carbine, one Ranger Sales 20" standard rifle setup similar to "SPR" and one MA parts 20" E2 stainless.  Before I placed my orders I read what I could about the companies providing AR kits and concluded that all the companies have both good and bad comments on line. I decided to contact 6 companies by email with the specification that I desired for two rifle kits and asked them for price and availability. In addition to the above three companies I contacted Model 1, AR15-kits.com and J&T distributing. I also looked at several other online pars kits.

Of the six companies I contacted by email only AR15 Kits, and MA Parts replied within 24 hours. Ranger Sales replied after about 2 days, and the other three never replied at all to my email. So I called all six companies to see what the phone support was like. Had to leave a message with every company. Again AR1- Kits and MA Parts replied first followed by Ranger Sales, Blackthorne, J&T distributing  the next day and finally Model 1 the following day. Based upon the companies customer service I planned to order from AR-15 Kits, MA Parts and Blackthorne. AR-15 Kits could not provide the 1:8 twist stainless barrel I wanted in a timely manner so this order was moved to Ranger Sales.

The orders were placed on March 15th. The MA Parts kits and the Blackthorne kit arrived 4 days latter. The MA kits was packaged better than the Blackhorne, but it arrived with a damaged handguard and missing the selector. The Blackthorne kit had no damage but was missing the sling swivel on the M4 Buttstock. Upon sending MA and Blackthorne emails they both indicated that they would immedately send the parts. They did and like their kits the missing items arrived on the same day.

At this time I still have not received the Ranger Sales kit, nor any information about an expected shipping date. When I placed the order I was advised it would be about 3~4 weeks. Of the companies I contacted only Model 1 and Ranger were unable to ship within a couple of days. Model 1 estimated 10~12 weeks before shipment.

My lower receivers are all from Essential Arms and everything installed into these receivers without problem. The uppers of both companies fit like a glove to the lowers. The parts that came with the Blackthrome kit were of good quality and a good value. If there is a problem with Blackthorne it is that he does not offer some of the name brand options that the other companies do and if it is not listed on their website it is not available. But there are lots of options and the Blackthorne items I ordered, like the free floating 4 rail handguard and flip-up sights are of good quality and were great value compared to what similar items cost as upgrades to other AR kits. On the MA Parts kits they seem to have every option you can think of available and in stock.  This was not true of all the other companies.

In summary if Blackthrone has a kit that you like with the options you want I see no reason not to purchase from them and save money. Model 1 has some nicely priced kits, but who wants to tie up their money for 10 to 12 weeks before shipment. MA Parts had every option I wanted and could ship the next day. MA Parts  Ranger Sales and AR15-kits all could provide the stainless 1:8 barrel, but Ranger won because he said he had it in stock and I already had a MA kit on order.

I intend to purchase another upper or two. The Blackthorne SPR is very attractive to me and I would like to try something from AR15-kits.com

My advise is to buy what you want. All of these companies have been around for several years and they would be gone if they did not stand behind what they sell.

Blackthorne churns out the worst shit on the market, there have been numerous pictures of their junk here. Ranger sales just resells someone else's kits, I think Model One. ar15 kits just sells J&T. You are just going through a middle man.
"Been around for several years" Blackthorne/hesse has been through bankruptcy, name changes etc

Really? You must be new to the AR market. Blackthorne sells garbage and when people start to catch on to it and the complaints stack up he closes shop and re opens under a new name. So far he has used the names Hesse and Vulcan before calling it Blackthorne. I can't imagine you found too many good comments about them online. Buying junk is not saving money.

I have bought kits from Model 1 and MA and both where fine, but you could do better for not much more money.
