I'm looking at getting a CMMG bargain bin rifle to play around on.

But yes, you'll be able to remove them. The front sight will be tricker as you'll need to punch out the pins holding it in.

I would think 80% (probably higher in the Build It Yourself forum) of this community would see themselves up to this task.
