Hi .. this is my first time assembling an upper ...I have assembled lowers before.

So my questions are ;

1. no lube on the outside of the barrel extension?   ––SS Noveske

2.  Fail Zero upper  will get the threads lubed ––- now the TM says the grease cant have lithium right?

I am tempted to just use Mobil 1 or CLP  I also have Lubriplate...which is best out of these three or

absolutely none of the above.

I am using a Larue Barrel nut

thanks

You cannot have GRAPHITE (it will cause galvanic [metal to metal ] corrosion and possibly lead to eaten threads or a failure )

The TM gives a milspec for the grease.
Aeroshell 33MS states it meets the milspec. There may be others.
This is an often debated subject even a cursory search should reveal a number of posts.
Personally I have the milspec grease, I use the milspec grease, and I recommend using the milspec grease. It seems likely to me that there are substitutes that will work for SA civilian weapons. I could make a good guess which might be ok, but in the end it would just be a guess and why guess when the grease that meets the milspec is available.
