| I'm looking to start my first AR build and was wondering if anyone up here has had any dealings with Del-Ton and how would they rate their products. Also what is the diffrence in the chrome lined barrel and the chrome molly barrel? Is the 20" gonna be more accurrate then the 16" barrel? And should I go with the chromed bolt & carrier or the standard? Thanks for any input. |

They are kinda backlogged right now. Im assuming because of tax refunds. I ordered my M4 kit on the 21st of Feb. and the chrome lined barrels are on backorder. I called to see if I could switch it to the standard one and they said I could but it wouldnt expedite my order any and they were just behind due to alot of orders. He said it would probably be end of March. All that said, that was the 16" M4 kit. I would just call and check, they are really nice and helpful. I dont mind the wait knowing everyone has good comments about them. I would suggest Del-Ton just based on customer service. Good luck. |
| I've dealt with Del-ton in the past and they are great. Because they are so back logged I just got a kit from M & A parts and it was here in 2 days. The quality was as good as Del-Ton if not a little better (I have both and can see little differences) Add the fact that I had it in 2 days and you have a good experience. |

Everything else being equal (which if really never is) the CM barrel is capable of being a bit more accurate that the CL. With that said the CL barrel will typically have a longer service life than the CM. This can all vary depending on how the rifle is used, cleaning techniques, ammo, shooter, etc. The accuracy isn't affected by the length of the barrel in the most basic sense. With a longer barrel you get a longer sight radius and more fps from the ammo though, which are both advantageous in some circumstances. As for the Chromed BCG, it's a personal preference. I don't think it's really necessary in regards to another quality BCG. Last thing, check the Equipment Exchange link. New stuff from Del-ton can be had at a savings. Do a search for del-ton or DTI. |
| Let them know you are a member and get 2% off. Up to 5% I think with a paid membership. From what I understand they haven't had the chrome BCG in over a year. I got 16 carbine with YHM ff 4 rail M4 feed ramps and bull barrel gas block for 597 shipped. I'd save your 50 bucks and get chrome Moly. You can find basic kits out there for a little cheaper than from Delton and whole rifles for 650 or so. |
