I have a RRA Tac Entry rifle and I am trying to install a 1 point sling attachment. But the castle nut will not move. I understand that RRA uses loctite with this stuff but holy hell how much was put on there? I have heated, chilled, heated, chilled. I have used brute force, used a huge vise so I could clamp the grip and magazine block and it will not move. I am about to cut the fucking thing off and replace it all with mil-spec parts (have a ACS in the closet waiting)  Has anyone had this much trouble? I have been working on it for a week and to no avail. Any tips will be helpful. Damn barrel nut was easier to get off than this.

If you're not too worried about the nut you could use vicegrips, or even try vicegrips with something to pad the jaws (towel, shirt, electrical tape, etc.).

probably not any help, but ggng single point sling adapter  doesn't require you to remove the castle nut just the actual stock.  it fits over the nut and they're like 30 bucks.  good luck

Being a RRA the castle nut may be staked.  It will simply take brute force and a good Car stock wrench with a cheater bar never hurts.

Careful on the cutting, you don't want to hit the lower or cut so far into the tube that it might break when you try to get it out.

I would go as far as possible with a vise and cheater bar.  And just to make sure, you are turning counter-clockwise when looking at the rear of the receiver, yes?  Probably so, but never hurts to make sure.

I had to check twice when I was removing my staked castle nut.

Actually it depends on the type of sling point he has.  My sling points replace the receiver extension end plate, so you do have to remove the extension nut to install the sling plate.

pipe wrench? We use Knipex Alligators on pipe fitings. Turn them the right way they will release anything without stripping, will break loc-tite and only leave two small nicks in the castle nut.

do you have a high quality wrench?  something with 3 contact points for the castle nut and a bit of elbow grease after heating the nut should do the job.

I cannot get it off, tried for a few hours today. Guess I will stick with the two point style, maybe this is a sign?
Thanks for the help guys.
