I just put together my first lower. I used a smith&wesson lower with a rock river lower parts kit and a hogue grip. The problem is that it went to easy and was way too fun!!! No problems at all. Not a scratch on on the lower and all the springs and detents went in sweet. This was suppose to be my first and only ar. I still have to get my stock and upper parts together so I still have more to go, but I don't think this will be my last. I can't wait till I start the upper build. A big thanks goes to all the info here on AR15.com. Could not and would not have tried other wise.
I suck at picks, so for now just imagine the sweetest AR15 lower you have ever seen and insert here!!! |
| I even added the rear takedown detent spring mod. The only trouble I had with that was my local hardware shop only had the 4-40 set screws in 1/4''. So I had to grind 1/8'' off. But even that was not that bad. I will try some pics, but I did not just dream this up. Honest! |

| I bought a new BCM m4 stripped upper w/ forward assist and bolt cover for $90 shipped on the EE. It went on the lower without a problem and the line up and match of color is right on. I'm not sure what I will get next. I will be looking for a new bcm bcg, used low pro gas block, quality barrel, and I haven't decided what stock. My next purchase will depend on finding what I want at a good price. Im trying to build a high quality rifle at a good price. |

Is it not amazing that if you read the directions and follow instructions that it all comes together so easy.
Congratulations you have contracted the dreaded and incurable "Black Rifle Disease". It is fun just searching for the "right" parts for your build. (until the money gets low) Post pictures when it is complete. |
