i've used search and read every post, i read the headspacing articles in the how to section.
im still confused as to what to use. i assembled a rifle with all new parts: BCM BCG BCM STANDARD MIDLENGHT BARREL 5.56 BCM UPPER RECEIVER do i need the field gage or the no go gauge??? i want to be safe and dont want to take the risk of shooting without proper headspacing. as i understand only to much headspace is dangerous, if its to low it just wont feed right, correct? at brownells they have the 5.56 field gage but it shows a pic of a 223, anyone know which one it really is? |
| As long as you're using new components, the headspacing should be fine. It's when you start mixing used barrels and used bolts that there tends to be some concern. If it gives you peace of mind, by all means, get a headspace gauge, or take it to a gunsmith, and they'll check it for you, for a nominal charge. |

Put it together and shoot it. |
