I'm in a bit of a competition with one of my friends to build the cheapest ar possible. I have everything pretty much sorted now but I'm trying to find where I can get a cheap used upper (as in barreled/complete upper) with bcg. I've checked on gunbroker and it seems it will be around $350 or so for those particular parts, which with the completed lower I have (purchased the stock and lpk, milled the lower) will be around $450 total on the rifle. Anyone think I can find any better than that?
I know someone will probably comment about the end product being a pos, but the main point of this is just to see if it will work. I already have a nice 20" kit built using del-ton parts, so if the el cheapo special is crap I can use the parts for some other project. Thanks. |

Do you check the ar15 classifieds daily hourly?

Here's what I've done for a cheap AR build:
RGuns ShARps lower = $55.00 + $20.00 shipping ( I bought more than one, shipping didn't increase). DSArms 16" Nitride upper = $275.00 (2 months wait, but the price is worth it). DSArms BGC =$110.00 DSArms Charging Handle = $15.00 Calguns Group buy lower parts kit: $45.00 shipped. Calguns Stock butt stock complete kit: $45.00 shipped. | Thanks for the advice so far, already have the lower, milled it myself, think I'll try calguns for that lpk and stock so I can have receipt of less expensive parts for this little competition. Then I guess I'll just keep checking the ee and auction sites for a cheap used upper and bcg. |
