Whats the best way to remove a staked castle nut? I'm waiting for my Spikes lower to come in and have an ASAP plate waiting for it. I want to be ready when I get it in case I need to buy any different tools. Would a standard castle nut whrench work or do I need something else?

After it's staked, the only sensible way to take it off is to simply back it off with a standard AR15 multi-tool.

It'll probably strip the edge(s) a bit, which is a good reason to have an extra castle nut. They're inexpensive, grab another one.

Any recommendations for a good wrench?

I recently ordered this one for use in my first build.

It seems to be of good quality, and very stout. You could give someone a good beating with this thing after you're done putting your rifle together!

It does look sturdy. I wasn't planning on paying that much for a tool, but I guess I should get ready for BRD. Might as well be prepared right?

Might as well.

The cost was discouraging for me as well, but it's one of those things you'll only probably need to purchase once, and you'll have one around for future builds / modifications.
