I have seen the topics about the set screw method of adjusting the trigger "travel". But when I try it the set screw barely starts to take up any of the travel and then the safety stops working properly. I can get almost all of the travel out before the hammer trips, and then back it out a round or to two, but the safety keeps giving me problems. It is on a Double Star lower.          [b]What am I doing wrong           Thanks

your not doing anything wrong. to get the safety to work, you will need to file the trigger a little bit were it makes contact with the safety...

article calls for a 1/4-20 set screw. you need a 1/4-28 set screw.

if you use a 5/16 long set screw you probably won't need to shorten your pistol grip screw, or use washers.

also, you may have to tap out the rest of the pistol grip screw hole. sometimes they aren't tapped all the way through.

every set screw mod i've done, (and i've done several), i've never had to file the back side of my trigger.
