Well, I have been browsing for a while. I finally picked up a lower, Charles Daly Defense. DPMS LPK and have that together. I have the Magpul CTR stock coming. What I am stuck on is what to do for an upper. These are the two options I have been looking at getting:
LMT 16" Upper assembly $485 BCG CMT $120 CH $22 YHM Free Float Forearm $130 (Or any other forearm for same price) BUIS MI folding sight $120 Total : $877 I am also looking at the YHM Black Diamond Spector which I can get for $769. The YHM comes with folding front sight which seems like a plus. I eventually want to put an Aimpoint on the gun. Will the fixed sight on the LMT be a hindrance or will it be far enough above the sight to not matter? Another option is buying all parts separately. For about $800, what are some options that would get me good quality with everything that the above include? I would like 16" chrome lined barrel and a flat top upper to start. The LMT upper sounds pretty good. Most people are not bothered by the A2 FSB but some are. Maybe check out a friend who has a similar config?
Are you sure you need the railed free float? Nothing wrong with that but if all you want to mount is a light, that can even be done on stock hand guards. |
