As long as the gas tube has been removed, probably have to use a cheater bar. When you put it back make sure its over 30 and under 80fb lbs. I prefer the 30 to 50 range. You might need to lap the face of the reciever to achieve this. I use Brownells lapping tool on all of my uppers when I assemble them.

Are you talking about the barrel nut?

Who is the manufacturer of the free float tube?  Some have adapters that require the use of red loctite.

Kroil the crap out of it twice a day for a few days, then apply some grunt.  If that doesn't work, heat it with a torch and try again.

I just had a YHM tube barrel nut that was a bitch to remove, and it wasn't even Loctited.

Careful applying too much ass - those "adapters" are usually aluminum and i've seen bent gas tube holes from too much torque.

Agree with soaking in a solvent.  Move it back and forth to grind the loctite a little - get yourself some running room.
