I've assembled my lower and function checked everything.  I have one final (stupid) question to ask...... Should the hammer be in the cocked position or not (or does it even matter) when I install the upper onto the lower assembly?

I should know this.  It's been a while since I was in the service and quite frankly I've forgotten.

I always cocked the hammer, then installed the upper with the pivot pin, then bolt, charging handle then closed her up, push in the take down pin ready to rock

It doesn't show you the trigger reset. Hold the trigger and charge the rifle . Release the the trigger and you should hear a click.

Thanks for the replys folks....  I got it all together.  I was pretty proud to get the lower assembled.  This was my first rifle build.  I built this on a tight budget but it feels and looks as good as anything that was ever issued to me.  I can't wait to shoot it!
