I am only interested in the drop in style. I want something that breaks like a 1911 and be light, 3-4 lbs., lighter is also fine.

I have seen them from Timney, Wilson, American Trigger, Chip McCormick, etc. I would like to hear some real world reports on these, They all seam about the same price range so that is not an issue.

Thanks.

I love the RRA Match two stage trigger. However the Gieselle Combat trigger is very nice too.

Have a 3# timney in my 308 AR, and i like it... about 500 rounds with that trigger so far, no problems
It is single stage, so there is practically ZERO takeup, and it snaps like glass with short reset.
This is the only one in the list that i've tried...

I have read a TON about these guys, and from what I read, they are great.

I have a Jard for a 16" blaster.  Had a 1.5# spring in it.  I DO NOT recommend that spring. The recoil made me pull 2-3 more shots without thinking lol.  Immediately changed it out for the 3#.  and love it.  It
takes about 30min to install b/c of the adjustment.
imo it is OK.  but for $100 it is nice.

Thanks,

I am set on one of the all in one drop ins due to the simplicity of installation. There seems to be a fair amount of reviews around about the American Trigger one, the Timney seems quite popular also.

New Wilson single stage TTU.  I've got one in a new build and am very pleased with it so far. I can't honestly tell you that I've tried to wear it out or torture test it yet, but it's a drop-in and breaks crisp and clean at around 3-3.5lbs. They're a little expensive, but I'd buy another one based on what I've seen so far. YMMV

JP. Yeah, it's a "gunsmith fit", but  a blind, epileptic, quadruple amputee, orangutan could do the "fitting" with a dull rock. It really is that easy. Oh yeah, it's pretty cheap and it's a great trigger.

Do all of these work with your existing safety?

Bill Springfield will turn your stock AR trigger into the nicest thing you pulled for a fraction of the cost.  He tuned mine to 4lbs with no slack at all and it breaks nice and crisp.  I was very impressed.

Maybe I'm ignorant here so bare with me.
By drop-in, you mean a component / unitized FCG? Just add pins, hammer / trigger and the rest are in a package.  If so.

GSA, RRA and Bill Springfield are not ones you should consider.

+1

I have one in my rifle and another inbound for my carbine.  He'll adjust the pull to whatever you like (mine are 4.5 lbs, CMP legal) and there is absolutely no creep.  Very crisp clean break.  Best value in AR triggers at $35 each. He's quick too.

+3......Bill currently has my 3rd trigger that he is working over.  His work is absolutely the best $35 I have EVER put into any of my rifles.  I have a 3 lb. Timney that I really like in my target gun, but I wouldn't ever buy one again.  Not that it isn't good, but Bill Springfields work is just as good for $35-$50 depending if you want a 4 lb or 3 lb job.  Seriously, as long as Bill is doing triggers, I won't buy ANY after market triggers.

Probably the one of the best "drop in assy" is the
Geissele SSA, usually around $150-170.

people the guy says he wants a drop in, RRA and Geissele are not Drop in they are just replacement stock style triggers.   A drop in is a self contained unit like a Timney.

I had bought some RR 2-stage - they were quirky, but I had them tuned by White Oak and they are now very crips and clean.

Timney for a drop in.  I have a 4# Timney in mine, worked out of the box.  I have had NO ignition problems with it.  Get some blue loctite for the set screws.

I have a Geiselle, LMT 2 stage, RRA 2 stage and Timney 3 lb and Geiselle is my favorite but it does require adjustment and is a 2 stage.  If you want it like a 1911 with almost no take up, Timney is the way to go.
