[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Help identify receiver

I recently came across a used upper receiver, but no one seems to know who manucactured it. The only markings on the barrell are B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9. Can anyone identify the manufacturer for me. Also if it's not a high quality receiver, what can be done to make it high quality?

The barrel is Bushmaster. Receivers are generally unmarked as to the maker. As long as the machine work looks reasonably clean you are probably fine.

Yes, that's a bushmaster, it was excellent quality when it left the factory.
