I have a commercial CTR that is loose on the tube. Compared to my millspec its driving me nuts. I would imagine its from the tolerance difference between the commercial DPMS tube and my BCM mil-spec but has anyone seen a link to a mod to tighten it up a bit. I thought I saw a thread somewhere but I cant find it.

it's loose after you hit the locking clamp? Have you tried testing it on another tube? Are you certain you've got a commercial stock on that commercial tube?

I'd test it with another tube, and if it's still loose, contact Magpul, before making any modifications to the stock.

Not on another commercial tube. Its the correct tube I just verified that with my milspec CTR as it wont fit on. I have a rifle with a PRS I guess I could take that off and try it on that. Never heard of an out of spec magpul stock??

I haven't heard of it either, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

What's the diameter of your commercial tube?

Not sure I don't own calipers. Ever heard of a mod to tighten it up?

I just went through this with the two that I have.  Drive out the roll pin that secures the lock.  Remove the lock and on the inside of the lock you'll see a metal piece.  Carefully pry the unsecured end out slightly so you can grab the edges and squeeze them together a little.  Like I said, carefully.  There was a posting awhile back that someone did this and the metal piece broke, but was able to get a new one from Magpul.  Don't know if he got a new lock or the metal piece.

Did this work for you then I would assume?
