There have been more articles on what to locktite, anti-seize, stake, etc then I can count, but no consolidated list that I've found.  The list below seems to be the more popular sentiments running around the forums (doesn't mean it is the right thing to do though).  Thoughts?

From back to front, bottom to top:

  • Castle Nut: Stake (nothing else)

  • Grip: Blue Loctite

  • Gas Key: Red Loctite + Stake

  • BUIS/Scope Mounts: Blue Loctite

  • Barrel Nut: Anti-seize / moly grease (nothing with graphite please)

  • Rail Mounting Screws (if applicable): Blue Loctite

  • Gas Block Set Screws: Red Loctite

  • Flash Hider: Blue Loctite or nothing

the red loctite on the gas key bolts concern me. if a gas key is loose it is usually because the bolts have stretched and they should be replaced. if they have red loctite on them the bolts can still stretch making the gas key loose but the bolts will be a real pain to replace having to deal with red loctite on top of fighting the stake in the gas key all the way out.
