i ordered a VLTOR low pro clamp gas block from rifle gear like two months ago and they are really backed up, so its on some serious back order

being impatient i took the stock flat top gas block off my MP15 and did a little cut and grind to it so it fits under my tube,  everything fits and went back together like a dream, looks awesome.

im just wondering if i left enough meat on top to help house that gas tube.  i know the pin will take most of the force from the gas, but i just want to check with the experts first before i fire it and find out that it was too weak and have the gas tube launch into outer space

eventually it will be replaced with the VLTOR unit but until then at least i can shoot and finally sight in my MBUS

i think it should do fine, still a lot of meat left on the sides where the pin is jammed through. just not sure what the PSI rating is on a gas system like this one.  10,000PSI  then i would be worrying

In my limited experience, I would like to think you will be okay with that.

Granted, if everything else was to get clogged/blocked, you might have a problem, but with an otherwise perfectly functioning rifle, there is a path with a lot less resistance than out the top of that gas block.

You did a great job on it.  It'll be just fine.

That looks like you did a good job. Looks strong to me, its not going anywhere.

Leave it on...  Its pinned and will hold much better than a clamp on block.
