I will be putting together my first lower soon, I have printed out the instructions and watched the video.
None of them mentioned anything about lubing any parts. What needs to be lubed during assembly? |

Moly Di on the buffer tube threads and on the barrel threads for the upper if you are following all the instructions to the letter. Some say its not nesscessary or any lube is ok––-I bought a tube years ago at Auto Zone for $3 and its barely touched––-it doesn't take much.
Something about different types of metal not fusing together. All my builds get the treatment. |

Quoted: I put a little CLP on the parts and wipe it off as I assemble the lower. It's more for cleaning than lubrication. I'm not sure it's necessary though. Other than parts that require some grease, this is the way to go. Don't slime the weapon down. Just enough to barely gloss the metal along the points where two pieces of metal touch, rub, move, etc. |

Well I finished up a little while ago.
I used some CLP on the hammer and trigger pins and on the disconnector and hammer. I also used some on the take down pins and bolt catch. The build went really well, I used the vise grips method and finished up with the punch. Only one tiny nick under the trigger guard pin, when the punch slipped. I didi have trouble getting the trigger guard pin to recess but I do not think it matters. I put nothing on the threads of the buffer tube, should I take it apart and do that? Now I want to build another. |

it's all going to flow out the pin holes anyway.
