Excuse the newb builder questions but here goes anyway.

Starting my first build ever. I have a stripped lower and LPK in the mail.

My next purchase is a butt stock....
1) Do most butt stocks come with the buffer and spring, or will I need to buy the buffer and spring seperately?
2) What is the difference between mil spec and commercial. It's going on a Spikes stripped lower if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the help.

You can get it either way.  Complete buttstock, receiver extension, buffer and spring in a kit or separately.  But starting from scratch, I'd get the kit with
the stock you want.

The difference in mil-spec and commercial is not only is the tube size different, the threads are rolled in, and the tube is forged on the mil-spec.
Commercial tubes are cut thread, the tube od is slightly larger and the tubes are extruded.  It is said that the mil-spec is stronger.

Btw the threads are the same size between the two.

They come both ways; most will specify in their listing what is included.

Magpul has a page that details the difference between mil-spec and commercial buffer tubes.

Which receiver did you get from spikes?

Does anyone have the specs for  the A1 and A2 stocks handy.   Is length the only only difference between the two?  Thanks.
