Conical shaped spring, slated as the disconnector spring, no way in hell will it fit all the way into the trigger recess so the disconnector can sit down inside where it is supposed to be that allows a builder to get the frikken pin through it...after several tries, the spring is now in low earth orbit.

Am I doing something wrong ?

Everything else has gone together very well, and using the tip (s) here, I advise the taped up vice-grip method on the roll pins.

And oh yeah, the trigger and hammer pins should be checked for fit before you try hammering the fuck out of them to make them work.

Do not ask me how I know this, it is, afterall, my first AR build...

And oh yeah again...DO NOT USE DUCT TAPE.

Tried that before the spring launched, it did not fit.

Use a punch to get the holes lined up.  Install the trigger pin from the other side, pushing the punch out as you go.

I used very nice instructional video from internet how to install parts in lower, but guy forgot to mention that disconnector spring goes wide end down. He is a real............ and .........
It looks like a lot of guys use that video because everybody makes exactly same mistake.

Mine was a tight fit with *big end down* on a recent assembly but did finally seat with a bit of gentle persuasion.

Rotate it as you press it into the trigger, to wind the spring to a smaller diameter.  If that doesn't work, you obviously have a DPMS LPK.

My buddy gave me an extra parts kit (DPMS) and i managed to get the spring in and the rifle is TOGETHER !

BTW, CLP works great for removing duct tape adhesive residue...

Managed to put the rifle together without marking it up at all, I NEVER would have been able to do this without all the help from ARFCOM.

Thanks fella's, your advice is very much appreciated.

Check if the disconnector goes into the trigger channel freely without the spring inserted, I had one with burrs and could not insert the pin in because of it. I had to stone it out a little and clean the trigger channel too.
