I've got a Del ton upper that has a wobbly FSB.  It is only noticeable when the handguards are removed.  I've never replaced or removed a FSB and this one is pinned so,.......any suggestions?  I'm considering putting on a railed gas block and removeable BUIS but other than that,...?!?

never heard of such problem. maybe straight pin hardware (pins and fsb) were mounted on a barrel cut for taper pins.

It's got taper pins.

Did you just get it?  If so, I'd call them and make 'em fix it.  If you've had it awhile and are just now noticing that it's coming loose, while that shouldn't happen, what you can do is try to drive the pins in and tighten things up.  Drive them in from the right side (drive them right to left) using a punch and a decent size persuader (hammer).  Don't be afraid to put a little ass into it, they need to be very tight.

Edit: Be sure to support the FSB properly on a bench block or piece of wood.

I've had it for close to a year.  I didn't notice how loose the sight post was until I put MOE hanguards on.  Probably 1/16th" movement.  I shimmed the cap with inner tube rubber to tighten up the hg's cause they were so loose.  I've already tried to drive the taper pins in more but they are in tight.  Frustrating!

Hmmm....  I guess the next thing I'd try is replacing the pins (they're cheap).  If the FSB/barrel was drilled incorrectly, then a gas block may be your next best shot.  You can try to redneck engineer it with JB weld or epoxy or something similar, but IMO, that would be substandard.

I don't know what Delton's warranty policy is, but it'd be worth taking a look at that, too.

Let us know how it turns out.

You are positive that the FSB itself is loose and not your barrel?

I've not dealt with ADCO personally, but the folks here on the board say they are top notch when it comes to any machining work.  You may give them a call and see what suggestions they may have, also.  They have a link over in the industry forum.

Fortunately I'm not operating on full retard, and yes the barrel is secure.  I didn't intend on taking shots at Del Ton so I kept it off the Industry forum.  I will tinker with it more tonite but I imagine I will replace the FSB with a YHM railed gas block and then a flip up if I can find one that will not conflict with my MOE handguard.  It just concerns me that it is loose, although it cycles perfectly.  It's a low use upper too so I'm sure I haven't loosened it by abuse.

OK, WTF?  I'm fairly new to the world of AR modifications.  I only own 2.  Both built, not purchased assembled.  One has taper pins that are I believe 2/0 x 3/4 long and it is tight as a drum.  The loose FSB has 2/0 x 13/16ths taper pins.  I think that these longer pins may be my culprit.  Is this normal or did Del Ton sub the wrong pins on my barrel?  I punched them out last nite, easily I may add, and then reset them with no improved results.  WTF?

They should be evil taper pins that are impossible to remove and require much force.

No matter, I took off the flash hider, knocked out the pins again plus the gas tube pin and then removed that POS.  I've ordered a YHM railed block and flip up to remedy my little crisis.  I'm appreciative of all the great ideas posted on this forum such as lubing the barrel surface prior to sliding off the FSB.  This site is an invaluable resource to the novice AR fan.  Now, I've got the fever to build a 20" flat top, damn you ARFCOM!!!

I gained that fever as well. Just began alleviating it last night too.
