| I have a 16" 7.62x39 carbine rifle that I assembled myself. It works great except for the normal stuff with wolf ammo. Anyways it seems like the spent shells are hitting hard against the shell deflector. It has marks from the shells hitting or bouncing off of it. Right now I am running a regular carbine buffer would upgrading to an H buffer or a Spikes heavy buffer help me out? Or is there something else I should be looking at? In case it helps the upper consists of a Henderson Defense upper, DPMS BCG,and MGI barrel, both barrel and upper have M4 feedramps. I don't know if any of that matters I just wanted to let you know the components that make up the upper. |
| If the brass casings are hitting the shell deflector then it is doing what it is designed to do....deflect the brass casing. These were designed and added to upper receivers for left hand shooters so the hot brass would not hit them in the face. Brass marks come off with an eraser...but if your using the Wolf stuff with steel cases, you might have permanent marks. |

Take a look at this Aramlite Tech Note: http://www.armalite.com/images/Tech%20Notes/Tech%20Note%2034,%20Adjusting%20the%20Ejection%20Pattern%20of%20the%20AR-10%20%E2%80%A6.pdf The tech note is for the AR-10, but as it states, These ejection patterns are common to all AR-15/M16 pattern rifles. They are more noticeable on the AR-10 because the heavier cartridge case mars the finish of the receiver easier. which ought to provide a little insight for you. |
