I installed a DPMS lpk into a LRB lower reciever and have noticed the trigger pull is sloppy (not crisp) first build, followed tutorials, wtf is wrong? Lube all the parts before installing . Including pins . Put a dab of grease on the sear engagement point and where the disconnector hook grabs the hammer . Now , cycle the hammer , manually untill tour fingers get tired . DO NOT let the hammer whack against the aluminum of the lower , catch it with one of your phalanges . All I did yo mine was CLP everything as I put it together . I have purchased compleat lowers that the parts seemed DRY , like they were put together w/o any lube ? Automatic Tranny Fluid makes a good , cheap , penetrating oil & I had it on hand . Seemed to help . I was too lazy to take it all back apart to lube it . God bless Wyr God bless Wyr |

This is a problem with "Standard Parts Kits". I got way over spending more than the lower cost for a decent trigger/hammer setup. There's a little trick that's worked for me on probably a dozen or so builds.
I tap the grip screw threads the rest of the way through into the upper, install a 3/8" long set screw and Blue Loctite, adjusted so that the Safety Selector will just rotate freely with the lower fully assembled. Then the grip is installed with a 3/4" long grip screw. This takes nearly all the travel/creep out of the trigger. Then the trigger pull can be adjusted via the trigger/hammer springs. Just an option to a trigger job, cost is about a Dollar. Someone here at AR15 gave me the Idea. Good Luck, SO-13 |
