We I finally got started tonight on my "East Coast" SAM-R.
Here's what I have on hand so far: RRA Lower Receiver RRA Flat top upper RRA NM LPK with 2 stage trigger KAC Free float rail A2 flash hider Parts on the way: Krieger 20" Stainless Service Rifle Barrel 1:7.7 ARMS 41 BL gas block front sight, the KAC one was too much loot

Nice. Where are you getting your barrel from? I am doing a similar build altho until I save up the cash I am using a M5 RAS for the rail system and I had planned on getting a BCM 20" upper when they're available. I cant seem to find a complete SAM-R type upper without spending $1200 and if I spend that much I'm going Larue

Well I made some really good progress on this build. The Krieger barrel showed up yesterday so I mounted it, the ARMS 41 BL sight and the Knights rail last night. I called Neil at Gun Gallery today and got the Knight's 600m micro sight and the Knight's bi-pod stud kit on the way. I got back to work this afternoon and I had a surprise on my desk. The Leupold Mk.4 LRT scope with ARMS #22 high rings I got off the EE. I'm getting a gas tube from my local dealer this weekend and I will post a range report ASAP. Where can I get a Harris bi-pod cheap?

Yours looks great! I did one on a "budget"...Leupold Ultra scope, YHM rails, FN A2 bbl.

Did you shoot yours yet? Mine did not do what I was expecting....M855 was 5" @100 and BHA 69grn Match was ~ 2.5". Think the barrel is the culprit as it was used but "gaged" ok. My A4 clone with an RCO will put the same M855 into 3" or less all day. Not sure what I'm going to do for a barrel as I have another NIW A2 barrel that I may swap in there or I may just have to bite the bullet and get a new CMMG or some other barrel... |
